May 1 – and the verdict is…. (week 19)

We had an Level 2 ultrasound last week to check out how baby was doing. It was fun to sit there nd watch the monitor as the little one moved around kicking and swarming. The technician went through all the body parts (i.e. lungs, heart, spine, head) to check on the development. She asked us if we wanted to know the sex of the baby and we did. WE were surprised the last time but this time we wanted to know. So the verdict is….. a boy!!! We got a pair! We are so excited about this. I don’t know what to do with a boy. I should have known because I came up with the name a few weeks ago: Luka Armando Kaliher. We saw his penis and we were reassured that he will for sure be a boy when it comes to birth. We just couldn’t believe it. I always wanted to have a brother growing up and now we’re having a boy. So exciting!!! The doctor came in and told us that the baby looked great. We were so happy.

Later in the week I had a check up with my doctor. We listened to the heartbeat and talked about still births. One of my friends had one and it really saddened me. But my doctor reassured me that I had minimal risks. So everything is going very well. I’m more hungry but not that much. I don’t’ really have any carvings, though I still work like to have eggs a lot. I am having difficulty walking with pain in my pelvis but that’s natural because all of your joints and ligaments are getting looser. I can’t’ even walk fast! That’s so hard for me. The weather is getting nicer which is great to get into some of my summer clothing. My breasts are ridiculed large – they think they are ready to produce milk. They haven’t been this big until I gave birth to Carlita. I’m scared on how much bigger they will get even though Karl is enjoying them. Carlita still has no clue. We try to tell her about the baby in my belly but she just looks at her own belly. This summer we will start explaining it more to her and get some books on being a big sister. She’ll be great! That’s all from our happy little family.
